WEB BASED PROXY BLOCKING
BASIC DEFINITION
Whether you call these web based proxy servers, web proxies or filter unblockers they all do the same thing by allowing persons to get to material which they would not normally be able to get to OR allow them to anonymously access a website without leaving behind logs of where they come from, where they went or what they surfed.
HOW IT WORKS
A web based proxy is simply a website that people visit and enter in the website address that they would like to visit.
The web proxy encodes the URL so not to get caught by filtering software and then delivers the website in a frame inside the web proxy web page.
The users bypass the filtering and able to access the website until the amount of traffic to the web based proxy creates attention where then that website is also blocked and then the whole cycle begins all over again.
USING WEB PROXIES – THE RISKS
The risk from using web based proxy servers these days is that malicious people can setup and host a server, only to capture and gather information such as usernames, passwords and other important information. Unsuspecting persons utilise these malicious web proxy websites only to have their data captured.
BLOCKING WEB PROXIES
Many organisations have had issues with people using web based proxies to get around organisations web filtering and government web filtering in some countries.
We are currently looking at putting together our web based proxy software into a package were you may download a free version or purchase a subscription to our full updated version. This allows you to configure your own systems to block users from utilising these web based proxy servers and thus blocking users from accessing these sites.

We are currently working on software which is part of the CensorBlox system and showing how you may configure it for use with Squid Proxy, Microsoft ISA server or Microsoft DNS Server.
Other versions may be released later. (Bind DNS)
The files will be released onto our website, they will be devided into Squid Proxy, Microsoft ISA and Microsoft DNS formats.
By using some simple guides and code samples found around the net you will be able to utilise the software.
